Abstract

This research aims to analyze the political engagement of evangelical movements in Brazil, considering their significant presence in the country's social fabric. Written and digital sources, as well as statistical data, will be utilized to trace their political trajectory and understand the theoretical foundations justifying their involvement. Employing the comparative history method, this approach seeks to identify similarities and differences between Dutch Neo-Calvinism and Brazilian Neo-Pentecostalism. Key concepts such as Neo-Calvinist worldview, cultural mandate, and Neo-Pentecostal dominion theology will be examined. This study aims to contribute to an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon of evangelical groups' political insertion in Brazil.
