The present work deals with the potential of the YouTube online video portal as a tool to support the learning process of academics in a mathematics course. The established general objective was to analyze the use of the YouTube tool as a resource to support the learning process in the Mathematics Degree course at UEAP. The chosen methodology departed from the hypothetical-deductive method and was operationalized from initial bibliographical research and culminated with the application of an online questionnaire to the research subjects to validate the proposal. The results indicated that a fundamental potential for optimizing the learning process using YouTube is the creation of a specific channel of videos/lessons with the contents of the course itself, with all available disciplines, but with a focus on the more difficult disciplines pointed out by the students. students of the course itself with content fed back by them.
