Abstract

For in the addition to establishing comparisons, this article aims to integrate the past and current history of black populations in Ceará and Rio Grande do Sul. The elaboration of this narrative comes from the readings and research experiences carried out in these two states, in which the historiography on slavery and abolitionism stands out. However, the study seeks to go further, by developing a reflection based on the concept of oraliture, by Leda Martins (2003) to interpret the resistance of these populations through organizational strategies that advance in time and space and positively reframe the Afro-descendant history in these two Brazilian states.
