Abstract

The text presents the importance of oral tradition in the genesis of the Bible text, having as theoretical framework the African oral tradition depicted in the book “The Living Tradition” written by the Malian Thinker Amadou Hampaté Bâ. We believe that the debate surrounding this issue encourages listening and appreciation of stories in popular communities, labeled as ignorant and fanciful by the literate elites, but undeniably inspired by the breath of the Spirit that blows where it wishes.
