Abstract

The Faculdade EST participated in the Research Project about Intolerance and Religious Violence in the tasks of consultancy and in carrying out the interviews, besides supporting this Project together with the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI). In various states of the federation a survey was carried out about the cases of religious intolerance and violence in the media and in organs of the Judiciary and the Public Prosecutor’s Office which are responsible for human rights. Although the data acquired was significant, one perceives the invisibilization of intolerance and violence. As with domestic violence, still privatized and mostly invisibilized, religious intolerance and violence suffer from the lack of socializing information on the part of the institutions of the State to the victims. We have advanced in the Legislation, but it is little known among the population and above all by the victims and their agressor. This article does a reading of the data gathered at the Ombudsman of the public sector and seeks a formulation of a theoretical framework which is still introductory about one of the possible causes of religious violence and intolerance in religious discourse marked by the Spiritual Battle in the area of Prosperity Theology. Thus, we will seek interpretative leads in the field of religion to understand the data of the RIVIR.
