Abstract

Based on field trips and spiritual leadership discourses, this article deals with health and care practices in two Umbanda terreiro located in Groaíras – CE. We identify the health concepts existing in the terreiro and seek to understand how these conceptions are presented to people who seek the terreiro. We understand that Umbanda through its practices has been configured as a potent tool in the health care of individuals seeking religion for healing and self-care purposes.
