Abstract

Black feminism brings with color and context the claims that represent the (minorized) majority, transcending the generalist feminist quarrels of whiteness. In this study, we seek to analyze the social representation of black women in the newspaper O Dia, in journalistic articles, published in Black November, from 2006 to 2010. The research evaluated the news, based on the Content Analysis (CA) method, according to Bardin (2011) and based on the categories: Black Awareness Day, Enslaved work, racial equality, quilombola community and blacks. It was concluded that in the face of the 39 analyzed articles, women appeared in the background, and men gained more space and voice in the news on the themes in focus, which represents that the black woman is invisible in the fight against racism in Piauí.
