Abstract

To address this issue which is the use of 10.639/2003 law that requires basic approach in education Teaching of Afro-Brazilian and African History in public and private school, in practice the teaching of Geography will the following path: first drink some data on what it says about our Magna Carta Brazilian citizens in our society. Then I analyze how the Law of Guidelines and Base addresses the issue of education. Consulting and presenting the content of the law because when it comes to facing children and adolescents is very important to know the official guidance. Afterwards, I make a brief report of geographical science for the reader in order to understand better geography and I give some suggestions to present this theme in teaching practice. Knowing the paths taken by scholars of this science and its adaptation to contemporary reality facilitates the understanding of the use of the law 10.639/2003 in Geography. Finally I present a short reading from the reality of the classroom in the Brazilian basic education and point out some ways that may help in working to combat racism in our society, taking as its starting point the school.
