Abstract

All religions have a theological complexity. And all theology presupposes studies on three foundational elements in religious  beliefs: a theogony (origin of the deities), the cosmogony (origin of the universe) and eschatology (the ultimate end of all
things). This article aims to expose some elements of eschatology in the religions of African origin with a focus on Batuque of  Rio Grande do Sul state, with dogmas, doctrines, liturgies and deities related to the theme from an epistemology built on a dialogue between theoretical elements of philosophy, theology and history of religions.
