Abstract

This article is a proposal to rethink the issue of prejudice, fleeing the socially constructed idea over the years, that prejudice occurs only between different peoples or beliefs. From the analysis of the history of Africa and the multiple facets of the construction of the social thought of mankind, the research seeks to understand the genesis of the issue of prejudice to establish a discussion between the past and present of this reality. Through observation of the work of many authors of history, sociology and economics, will seek a possible explanation for the human urge to differentiate yourself from your neighbor. Such a study will enable the understanding of social phenomena observed throughout the history of humanity and present today, of which prejudice is the main cause, and that for many is still the result.
