Abstract

This article presents theological discussions, fruit of three meetings on the African continent in 2019. The three meetings, under the heading “Theology, Economy and Ecology”, brought together theologians and church leaders from theological currents associated with (although not representative of) Roman Catholicism, Evangelical and Ecumenical. The meetings took place in Pretoria, South Africa, Accra, Ghana and Nairobi, Kenya and included participants from 14 (fourteen) African countries. The article (1) presents the African context in light of policy objectives of the African Union and the UN in relation to the socio-environmental crisis; (2) offers a quick summary of the African theological context; (3) relates some African theological perspectives on economy and ecology; (4) offers African theological contributions on economy and ecology.
