Abstract

The concepts of "national identity" and "identity of the concept" have already been the subject of debates, many studies and reflections. This is the place of belonging. Feeling of belonging to a group and to a land. It is a form of expression of ethnic identity and “territoriality”. It is intended in this research to discuss some theoretical matrices on Mozambique's challenges in the construction of identity and formation of the new man. In order to analyze the construction of the political and ideological project of FRELIMO (the Liberation Front of Mozambique), discuss the way in which the cultural identities and inheritances of the colonial and racist period are counterposed with special emphasis on the design of the creation of the new man In the country, through a reading of the national unity. The approach is qualitative with the contribution of the historical-deductive method. It is believed that the research can collaborate in the reflection and discussion on the challenges in the construction of the Mozambican identity and the formation of the new man.
