AND GOD MADE FLESH IN OUR CULTURE

The implantation of Christianity in the African context played a role in the alienation of the cultural identity of African Christians, as a product of the ethnocentrism that associated Europe with the Gospel. In the continent's second encounter with Christianity from the 16th century onwards, Europeans' misappropriation of Christianity became normative and formed the pattern of gospel expansion. But this conduct clearly flouted the standard paradigm of evangelism established by the early Christian community.
