Abstract

The Afro-Brazilian literature of feminine authorship reinforces evermore the themes directed toward the Afro-Brazilian beliefs in Contemporary Brazilian Literature. In the verses of Lívia Natália we perceive the devotion of the poetic voice toward the goddess of the fresh waters, the feminine orixa Oxum, the yoruba entity which represents feminility, fertility, beauty, love and maternity. The goal of our study is to develop an analysis of the poems of the Agua Negra collection, showing how the path of the waters designs the verses of Livia Natália and gives voice to an Afro-feminine discourse which corroborates with the Afro-Brazilian religiosity based on a poetic [system] which constructs through the demand of the yorubá mythological imagining.
