Vitória Valentina
Creative Possibilities at the Intersection of Languages in HQ
Keywords:
Literature, comics, genres, popular culture, high cultureAbstract
In times when a Nobel Prize in Literature was given to a singer, provoking debates on what should or should not be called Literature thinking about the crossing between the borders that separate genres is thinking about the resignifications of art in its different forms. It is intended to bring in this review, the graphic novel Vitória Valentina by Elvira Vigna, which is composed of texts, images, colors and other symbols, intersecting the borders between popular and erudite culture, mixing and merging the two concepts, raising the genre to Literature. The comics are contemporary discursive genres that, from a formal point of view, are a property of popular culture, but from an aesthetic point of view, they present a unique narrative in the production of meanings and discourses in relation to the social subject, with numerous possibilities for studies. We are interested in analyzing in the narrative how the borders were broken in the different meanings of literary work.
