Abstract

This article aims to present the feast of the Folia de Reis (Feast of Three Kings) that has been taking place for more than a century in the black rural community of Água Limpa (GO). This community encounters in religiosity a joining factor, meaning for their lives and the dimension of belonging in the group. We highlight how important these events are for the community of Água Limpa (that means Clean Water) because, during the festivities, they seek to rebuild the symbolic space of the festive journey and understand how the rituals that make up the Feast of Three Kings aggregate and recompose history and identity memory of their African roots.
